Dave the Barbarian was created by Doug Langdale that premiered on Disney Channel from 2004 to 2005.

Summary

Dave is a teenage Barbarian, trying to protect the land of Udrogoth, along with his sisters Fang and Candy, while their parents are away fighting evil. Dave would rather be cooking; Fang wishes she were boss and could take over Udrogoth herself and Candy always has something smart to say.

Why It Rocks

  1. Great comedy and some perfect slapstick.
  2. Some great characters such as Dave, Candy, and Fang.
  3. Decent voice acting, especially from Danny Cooksey, Erica Luttrell, Tress MacNeille, and many more.
  4. The intro is amazing and catchy.
  5. The idea for taking place for both the ancient and modern is pretty cool.
  6. Most of the episodes have a fourth wall and the narrator as well.
  7. Great catchphrases like "Bajabbers!" and "I'm not a monkey!".
  8. Great antagonists such as Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy, Princess Irmaplotz and Ned Frischman.
  9. It was one of Disney Channel's most memorable shows during the 2000's.
  10. A great throwback to cartoons of the mid-20th century such as Hanna-Barbera and Jay Ward.
  11. James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich of Metallica made a guest appearance in the episode "Here There be Dragons".
  12. Awesome animation with an art style reminiscent of The Fairly OddParents.

Reception

  • It holds a rating of 7/10 on IMDB.
