Ultraman Cosmos (ウルトラマンコスモス Urutoraman Kosumosu) is a Japanese tokusatsu TV show being the 16th show in the Ultraman Series. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, Ultraman Cosmos aired from July 7, 2001 to September 28, 2002.

Why It's kind and gentle to kaiju

  1. The idea of having a pacifist themed Ultra-Series is a pretty interesting concept, and is actually executed decently, and till this day this series only remains as the pacifist themed Ultra Series, which makes it stand out from what came before and (mostly) after it.
  2. Musashi Haruno is a loveable protagonist, and is one of the franchise's most unique protagonists due to his pacifist nature and as the series progresses he gets some pretty decent character growth.
  3. The theme song is simultaneously both very dynamic and catchy, it could also be considered as one of the best theme songs to ever grace the Ultra franchise.
  4. Cosmos' suit (Luna Mode), is pretty decent to look at, despite almost looking like a modified variant of the Neos' suit, it has some unique aspects that distinguish it, from that suit.
  5. It is considered as the longest-running Ultra Series, totalling up to 65 episodes, Now that's gonna be a record for the franchise.
  6. The fight scenes are decently entertaining and is well-choreographed, especially within the unique nature provided within it, mainly (the duality of Cosmos' fighting style).
    • Whenever Cosmos just fights an aggravated kaiju, he tends to use a less aggressive method of stop the particular Kaiju, such as calming it down and using purification to revert it back to it's unharmed nature.
    • However if he is fighting a sentient being, he will not hesitate to use a more aggressive fighting method, such as using more lethal abilities of stopping the evil being.
  7. The supporting characters (mainly EYES), are also pretty entertaining despite not getting the most of it, luckily they do have some unique personalities that were brought it to the table, that made them an interesting bunch.
  8. It spawned three amazing films, notably Ultraman Cosmos: The First Contact, Ultraman Cosmos 2: The Blue Planet and finally Ultraman Cosmos vs Ultraman Justice: The Final Battle.

Bad Qualities

  1. It mainly dips into quality within the 40s mark, as it tends to be rather formulaic and rather repetitive sometimes.
  2. The pacifist nature of the show tends to be tiresome and boring at times,
    • and the fight scenes tends to be lack-luster at times, due to sometimes having a predictable nature and the repetitive choreography.
