"Attack of the Clowns" is the first half of the fourth episode in the third season of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Plot

After Billy wakes up from another nightmare involving clowns, he is more terrified than ever towards them, so Mandy and Grim try to cure him of this annoying clown-a-phobia. Mandy asks Grim to bring to life a clown's head made on paper mache to entertain Billy, but the spell does not seem to work. They dress up as clowns in an attempt to look harmless.

Why It Rocks

  1. Some funny moments, such as all the clowns in Billy's nightmare saying "let's be friends!", and Billy's iconic quote "Destroy us all!", which is extremely hilarious. Watch it for yourself. And there's many more!
  2. Grim bringing a paper meshe clown to life is pretty impressive.
  3. Grim and Mandy in clown suits look pretty decent, along with the paper meshe clown design come to life.
  4. Some fourth-wall breaks as well, such as Grim saying that Billy that he's going to run out of window sooner or later.
  5. Good Morals:
    • Just because someone thinks and looks different from you doesn't mean you have to be afraid of the person.
    • It's okay to be afraid but you must conquer your fears.
  6. Billy thinking happy thoughts and seeing his inner Fratboy was nice to watch and sends out another good moral about thinking happy thoughts.
  7. Half-Good Ending: Billy finally conquers his fear of clowns thanks to getting advice from his inner Fratboy, although he started attacking them.

The Only Bad Quality

  1. Half-Bad Ending: Sure, Billy conquers his fear of clowns, but however, the paper meche clown traps Billy, Mandy and Grim in its body and starts attacking the world.

Reception

  • This episode, along with Complete and Utter Chaos, hold a rating of 7.9 out of 100 on IMDB.
