Best Friends Whenever is an American comedy television series created by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas that aired on Disney Channel from June 26, 2015 to December 11, 2016.

Why It Rocks

  1. The concept of 2 teenage girls travelling through time might be overused, but is quite appealing for a tween sitcom considering most sci-fi disney shows are on Disney XD.
  2. Great characters, such as Cyd, Shelby and Barry.
  3. Good acting, notably from Landry Bender and Lauren Taylor.
  4. Lots of good episodes and hardly any bad one.
  5. The time-travelling scenes are cool to watch.
  6. Despite it's overused concept, it at least figured out how to make interesting and serious plot-centric episodes out of it.
  7. It sets an example of a good show airing during Disney Channel's dark age, aside from I Didn't Do It.
  8. The theme song, "Whenever" by Forever In Your Mind is nice to listen.
  9. It uses crossover elements well, like most It's a Laugh Productions shows. For example, Cyd and Shelby made an appearance in the Liv and Maddie episode "Haunt-a-Rooney" and Riley and Lucas from Girl Meets World made a guest appearance in "Cyd and Shelby's Haunted Escape".
  10. "Revenge of the Past" was an alright send-off to the series.

Bad Qualities

  1. As mentioned, the concept is a bit unoriginal.
  2. Some episodes gets pretty mean-spirited sometimes.
  3. It was not renewed for a 3rd season, and it was pretty disappointing.
  4. It has much less episodes compared to other Disney sitcoms.
  5. Bret and Chet, the younger brothers, are incredibly annoying.

  1. This show was created by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who have also created Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja.
