  • Joey is the only character in the show to recieve his own spin-off. The spin-off was titled Joey and starred Matt LeBlanc reprising his role as Joey Tribbiani. It premiered on NBC on September 9, 2004, in the former time slot of its parent series Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. Midway through the second season, the show was placed on a hiatus by NBC but returned on March 7, 2006, in a new timeslot of Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. However, unlike this show, it wasn't popular nor succesful, and was cancelled by NBC after 2 seasons and 48 episodes due to low ratings on August 23, 2006. 8 episodes of the spin-off were not aired in the United States.
  • The show has an Indian adaptation, titled Hello Friends, which has 26 episodes and is spread over only 1 season. While the American version recieved positive reviews, Hello Friends, on the other hand, was critically panned by the Indian media and is considered disappointing, tasteless, and one of the worst remakes ever made.
