"My Dad vs Your Dad" is the third part of the thirteenth episode in the third season of Dexter's Laboratory.

Plot

Dexter and Mandark's fathers become embroiled in a conflict after trying to defuse one between their sons.

Why It Rocks

  1. It starts off with a great battle between Dexter and Mandark's robots in a cool wild west background, which is fun to watch along with the robots looking very amazing and detailed.
  2. Dexter and Mandark's fathers are likable at the start for talking to both Mandark and Dexter respectively, and getting them to say sorry to fix their rivalry.
  3. Some funny moments, such as when Dexter and Mandark's fathers physically fought each other and Dexter's father throwing a ham on rye sandwich along with mustard, a hot dog, a fork, some chips and even ducks at Mandarks, while the other throws other creative things.
  4. As mentioned above, the things Dexter and Mandark's fathers threw at each other were very creative and made for another great and interesting battle. They also used boats, swam on the sea and even crashed their cars/vans.
  5. Although the fights were unreasonable, they were creative and well executed here.
  6. Funny ending where Dexter and Mandark argue to each other that their mom can beat each other up while their fathers crash each other.

Bad Qualities

  1. As always with the third season, the title card looks bland and generic. Fortunately, they will become creative again in the fourth season after this.
  2. Likewise, Dexter and Mandark's fathers weren't likable later in the episode for having a fight for no reason to the point where they crashed their vehicles, even if the battle was very creative and well executed.

Reception

  • It holds a rating of 5.9/10 on IMDB.

Trivia

  • This episode was meant to air in the Summer of 2002, but got delayed to September 20th.
