Oh My, Meat Pie is the sixth episode of season 12 of the cooking show, Good Eats.

Alton Brown discovers the journal of his great great grandfather who had stumbled into a pie shop and offers to help the owner with shepherd's pie and mincemeat pie, while being aided by a strange barber who provides a strange meat substance.

Why It Rocks

  1. Learn to make shepherd's pie and mincemeat pie. Get the recipes here.
  2. Parodies Tim Burton's adaption of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street very well, even down to the costumes.
  3. The music that plays when Sweeney Todd chops the the herbs and vegetables actually does sound like something you might hear in a Tim Burton movie.

Bad Qualities

  1. Some items and tools in the episode weren't around in the 1880s. In fact, Alton's great great grandfather used a silicon spatula to spread the mashed potatoes.
