The music played in this episode is great and used very well.
The episode is really enjoyable without dialogue. In fact, it's something you'd expect from Tom and Jerry, but it's a show taking place under the sea instead of the US and with a walking talking sponge and an octopus.
The pacing is really impressive. It is not too fast and it's not too slow either. Well, it has a sense of fast pacing, but again, the pacing is not too fast.
The mostly wordless charm and antics of SpongeBob doing his funny activities is grand, and Squidward doesn't need to speak for the viewer to get a sense of how he feels either.
The animation is quite swell, even for its time in the 90's.
It's proof that a show doesn't necessarily need lines or a long length to be good.
Reef Blower was ranked number 24 during the Best Day Ever event from November 9–10, 2006.
This episode is the only episode to not have dialogue. The reason was because the sound editing was damaged.
While "Help Wanted" was produced in 1997, this is the first official episode of the series to be produced in 1999. All other episodes of the same season will be produced in 1999 until the episode "Hooky" due to the fact the 1990's was coming to an end. The only two episodes from that season produced in 2000 (plus, the 2000's in general) are "Hooky" and "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II".
This is the only episode to be produced in a total of 2 minutes and 50 seconds, marking this the shortest episode of SpongeBob in existence.
