Road to the North Pole is the 7th episode of the 9th season of Family Guy, and is the second Christmas special for said series.

Stewie and Brian journey to the North Pole in order to find Santa.

Why The Special Deserves to Be On The Nice List

  1. Lots of great and memorable songs, such as “All I Really Want for Christmas”, and “Christmastime is Killing Us”.
  2. Lots of funny jokes, such as Stewie being in disbelief that Santa is real and Stewie and Brian setting up robots to take their place.
  3. Along with funny moments are cool moments, such as Brian trying not to get in a car crash while following a flaming truck with Stewie in it.
  4. The animation is actually better than before.
  5. Like every other Road To episode, the chemistry with Stewie and Brian is great and is one of the best parts of the episode.
  6. The Christmas hostage scene, while very dark and mean-spirited, is still kinda enjoyable for some people.
  7. Good ending where everyone in the world decides to want only one present a year, giving Santa, the elves, and the reindeer the innocence and jolliness they once had.

Bad Qualities

  1. Just like every other Family Guy episode, there are some mean-spirited moments like Quagmire accusing Brian of making fun of his niece for having cancer in the middle of the line where everyone is waiting to meet Santa Claus at the Quahog mall. In fact, it feels like this joke was reused from an earlier episode of the series.
  2. The "AAA" joke goes on for a while, and it's not even that funny.
  3. ”Christmastime is Killing Us”, while a good song, is pretty depressing.
  4. Despite the positive message of the world accepting the idea of only getting one present from Santa a year, the ending is still a mess as it not only suggests that no one in the Family Guy universe even bothers with shopping for Christmas presents for others (and instead makes Santa do all the work for them), but also misses the big point of "holiday time" anti-greed stories (which is all about how giving presents is just as great, sometimes even better, as receiving them).

Road to the North Pole received an 8.3 on IMDB, being the 10th highest rated episode on the website.
