Simpsorama is the sixth episode of the twenty-sixth season of The Simpsons, and is a crossover with Futurama.

When a time capsule containing a sandwich with Bart's snot, Milhouse's lucky rabbit foot and radioactive ooze causes a major catastrophe in the year 3014, Bender of the Planet Express crew travels back in time in order to prevent it from happening. However, trouble begins brewing when it turns out that Bender's wasn't actually sent back to kill Homer, as he'd originally believed, but Bart...

Why It Rocks

  1. This episode manages to be an enjoyable crossover between The Simpsons and Futurama.
  2. One of the very few episodes from The Simpsons that happened after its downfall to actually turn out pretty good.
    • This also feels like a great episode of Futurama, since it’s a crossover.
  3. It was nice to see the Futurama universe again, since this aired after Futurama ended.
  4. Everyone is true to their character here, since the way the Simpsons characters and Futurama characters interact with each other is how you'd expect them to react whenever meeting each other.
  5. Plenty of funny moments, such as Marge and Leela's awkward conversation and Professor Farnsworth's atheist prayer.
  6. This exchange:
    • Homer: "What happens to Homer Simpson in the future?"
Bender: I don't know, you die?"
Homer: "Oh! My! God! He's telling the truth!"
  7. Homer singing his own lyrics to the Futurama theme song during the credits is nothing short of hilarious.

Bad Qualities

  1. There are many plot-holes in this crossover. For example, Seymour Asses and Panucci's Pizza are located in Springfield for some reason, despite them both clearly being in New York (on the other hand, Springfield's location is ambiguous...)
  2. Scruffy blowing his own head off after his mustache is eaten by the Bart-gremlins is extremely dark.
    • In fact, that scene was cut when it aired on Channel 4 in the UK.

While the episode wasn't as well-received amongst critics, it was generally well-received from fans of both The Simpsons and Futurama. It currently sits at a 7.9 rating on IMDb.

  • After this episode, Bender can still occasionally be seen in the Simpsons' basement; an example is Season 27's "Cue Detective", where Marge takes money out of Bender's compartment and asks Homer to buy a new washing machine.
