Spider-Man Unlimited is an American animated series by Saban Entertainment which features the Marvel comic book superhero Spider-Man. Unlimited premiered in 1999, and though it had fair ratings, it was overshadowed by Pokémon and the newly debuted Digimon, and canceled after airing only a few episodes. Fox Kids later resumed airing the show from 2000 to 2001, airing 13 episodes, the last ending on a cliffhanger. Several scripts were written for Season 2, including the conclusion of the cliffhanger, but were never produced.

Why It Goes Unlimited

  1. The show has excellent writing, taking some inspiration from the Spider-Man 2099 comic series.
  2. The animation has improved a lot from the 1994 series.
  3. Great new design for the Spider-Man suit.
  4. We get to see brand new takes on old villains, with some new villains as well.
  5. Entertaining action scenes.
  6. MJ in the first episode is very beautiful.
  7. The show gives the origin story of Spider-Man in only a few seconds during the intro, which is a great way to avoid having to waste an episode on the origin story.
  8. It spawned a comic book series.
  9. Fantastic theme song.
  10. Spider-Man: TAS is referenced in the first episode with the beginning of the theme being played once.
  11. Some of the cast members reprised their roles elsewhere such as in the PS1 Spider-Man games

Bad Qualities

  1. The future concept seems a bit unoriginal since Batman Beyond did it first.
  2. The show once again ended on a cliffhanger that was never resolved thanks to the show not attracting many viewers and Pokémon and the newly introduced Digimon overshadowing it.
  3. MJ while very beautiful, sadly only shown on the first episode and a cameo in one episode.
  4. The animation, while improved from before, isn't perfect.
