"The Dog Days of Johnny" is the first half of the tenth episode in the first season of Johnny Test (2005).

Plot

Tired of his annoying habits, Susan and Mary put a device on Dukey, making him respond to every one of their commands. Johnny has no idea why Dukey is with Susan and Mary, but when he finds out, he tries to take the collar off.

Why Is A Very Good Dog Day

  1. The special collar Susan and Mary invent for Dukey is very impressive, as it responds to every command they give and is well-deserved because Dukey ruined their tree experiment, ate the paper on their belts and the cookies they made for Gil.
  2. Some emotional moments, such as Johnny wandering around Porkbelly when finding out that Dukey got a dog collar that responds to Susan and Mary's commands and looking back at all the memories himself and Dukey made.
  3. As mentioned above, Dukey interacting with Susan and Mary when putting on the special collar is a nice change for the show.
  4. "You're apologizing? Who are you and what have you done with our brother?" - Susan.
  5. The scene in which Johnny while he is sad sees the album of his memories with Dukey, it is very emotional to see.
  6. Good Ending: When Johnny apologizes to Susan and Mary about Dukey's bad behavior, he gives them a belt that's similar to the collar Dukey got and so, he gets back at his sisters for giving him the aforementioned collar by giving them orders and making them embarrass themselves in front of Gil.
  7. ''Hi Gil, We're Geeks, We're Geeks, We're Geeks'' - Susan and Mary.

The Only Bad Quality

  1. Few bits of toilet humor here, such as Dukey doing a number one on Susan and Mary's tree experiment, and him farting when sleeping in Johnny's room.

Reception

  • It holds a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDB.
