"Unidentified Flying Orson" is the second part of the second episode in the first season of Garfield and Friends, and the second episode of US Acres.

Plot

Roy takes advantage of Orson's overactive imagination to pretend that Earth is being invaded by aliens that resemble cheese danishes. While most of the farm panics, Lanolin investigates Roy's prank.

Why It Rocks

  1. The song Lanolin sings about Orson reading a science fiction book & the great things you can imagine is pretty catchy.
  2. The book Orson reads, Attack of the Awesome Space Zombies is pretty good, but Roy making the story happen in their world is even better.
  3. Speaking of which, the rocket ship Roy builds to fool the other animals into thinking that the martians have took over looks well done and very accurate.
  4. Good Moral: As Lanolin said, "Ah, don't stop reading books. Just remember they're books - sometimes they're real and sometimes they're to play pretend".
  5. Good Ending: Lanolin investigates that Roy was behind fooling the others into thinking that the martians are coming, and so Roy cleans out the sand while Lanolin teaches Orson a thing about books. But when Booker assumes that he found a Worm, it was actually a Cheese Danish martian, and we actually see them take over the barn.

Reception

  • It holds a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDB.
