Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? is an American animated television series produced by DiC Entertainment and aired on Fox on the Fox Kids block from 1994-1998, for four seasons and 40 episodes.

Why It Rocks

  1. Like with the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? games and Game Show, this series teaches people about different locations around the world in a fun matter.
    • The show also has educational facts about an object or place.
    • Due to this, it is very faithful to the games.
  2. Had elements that made the series appeal to both kids and adults.
  3. Likeable Characters.
    • Zak is skilled with computers and knows a lot of different languages, while Ivy knows how to put on a good fight with Carmen's henchman. They even show some signs of sibling love and sibling rivally as well.
    • Carmen Sandiego herself is a very unique villain - she doesn't harm anyone in her path or steal items for the money, she only does it to give ACME Agents (Zak and Ivy) a good challenge and even create facinating things like giant chessboard, even at times helping the two dispite their differences. She even has a very interesting backstory which isn't shown in the games.
    • The Chief provides very funny laughs.
  4. Good animation for DIC-quality standards.
  5. Well-written episodes, even including some awesome multi-episode stories.
  6. Well done voice acting.
  7. There are also very cool villains who aren't affiliated with V.I.L.E. have also appeared, like Dr. Gunnar Maelstrom from the three episode "Retribution" story arc.

Bad Qualities

  1. By Season 2, Carmen becomes more anti-heroic, which can get a bit overcomplicated.
