Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger (獣電戦隊キョウリュウジャー, Jūden Sentai Kyōryūjā) is Toei Company's 37th entry in its long-running Super Sentai metaseries of Japanese tokusatsu television series following Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. It aired on TV Asahi from February 17, 2013, to February 9, 2014, joining Kamen Rider Wizard then Kamen Rider Gaim in TV Asahi's Super Hero Time programming block. Its footage is used for the 2015/2016 American Power Rangers season, Power Rangers Dino Charge and its follow up season, Dino Super Charge

Why it Rocks

  1. The theme song and ending song are both really nice to listen at.
  2. The OST is pretty badass.
  3. It had very high toy sales to make this show very successful.
  4. It aired alongside Kamen Rider Gaim, a great Kamen Rider season
  5. The team is full of likable characters, such as Daigo Kiryu/Kyoryu Red I, Ian Yorkland/Kyoryu Black I, Souji Rippukan/Kyoryu Green I, Amy Yuuzuki/Kyoryu Pink I, Nobuharu Udo/Kyoryu Blue I, Utsusemimaru/Kyoryu Gold I and Wise God Torin/Kyoryu Silver I.
  6. Whenever they are about to transform, then tend to dance in a stylish and fun way.
  7. Great movies like Gaburincho of Music and Kyoryuger 100 YEARS AFTER, which is more tolerable to watch than the TV Series.
  8. Ian's famous "Oh My" catchphrase is quite hilarious as well as Amy's "Wow".
  9. The dancing during the transformation sequence is one of the great factors of this show, even though at times it could be a little irritating.
  10. The villains do a good job balancing being goofy and serious, such as Joyful Knight Candelilla and Funfilled Spy Luckyuro. Raging Knight Dogold and Resentful Knight Endolf were also cool and serious villains.
  11. The finale was amazing way to end this season despite its flaws, even the final battle with God Deboth and Daigo was fantastic.
  12. Dogold's rivalry with Endolf and Ian's rivalry with Aigaron were both very entertaining to watch.
  13. The suits are really great to look at.
  14. This show had a Korean sequel called Power Rangers Dino Force Brave (not to be confused with the American Power Rangers franchise itself, it was more than a marketing title for Super Sentai dubs) which is just as good as this show.
  15. They had 10 rangers, which is a first for Sentai since Dekaranger, though 4 were auxiliary.
  16. Utchy's Rivalry with Dogold was well built up.
  17. This is the first series to feature all three shades of blue; regular blue (Kyoryu Blue), light blue (Kyoryu Cyan), and dark blue (Deathryuger/Kyoryu Navy).
  18. There are a few quotes that are references to past sentai seasons, like Candelilla's infamous "Keep Smiling" (Saki's Smile Smile Quote from Engine Sentai Go-Onger) and Souji-Kun's, "You Jerk" (Yuka Yamazaki's Ozu-Kun, You Jerk Quote from Mahou Sentai Magiranger).
  19. The final episode gives a brief but notable set up that leads into Ressha Sentai ToQger vs. Kyoryuger: The Movie.
  20. It's superior to its adaptation, Power Rangers Dino Charge, especially compared to how bad its second adaption Power Rangers Dino Super Charge was.

Bad Qualities

  1. While his a good character, some fans feel there was too much focus on Daigo in later episodes, giving the show a nickname by fans, called Daigo Sentai Kingranger.
  2. Daigo and Amy's relationship in the finale felt like it came out of nowhere, unlike the adapted version with Tyler and Shelby.
  3. It aired alongside Kamen Rider Wizard, a flawed Kamen Rider season.

Trivia

  • This show is widely popular in South Korea. Due to its popularity in South Korea, it caused the creation of Power Rangers Dino Force Brave.
